Winter is a Wonderful Place

I put on my hat and gloves,
And my fuzzy little scarf just in case.
The season is just right,
For winter is a wonderful place.

I catch the snowflakes on my tongue,
As they fall from the gentle sky.
I smell the sweet taste,
Of my mom's home cooked cherry pie.

I make a marvelous snow angel,
As I lay upon the ground.
The wind blows in all directions,
And that's the only sound.

I put on my hat and gloves,
And my fuzzy little scarf just in case.
The season is just right,
For winter is a wonderful place.

I make some snowballs in my hand,
As I prepare for the snowball fight.
What a way to spend my day,
For the time is nothing but right.

I make a snowman on my lawn,
And I put on his button nose.
I pray that he doesn't fall over,
As the wind howls and blows.

I put on my hat and gloves,
And my fuzzy little scarf just in case.
The season is just right,
For winter is a wonderful place.

It's time for me to go inside,
For my cheeks are red and rosy.
I wrap a blanket around me,
And now I'm nice and cozy.

I sip on the couch and relax,
And I warm myself all up.
I wrap my hands around,
My delicious hot chocolate cup.

I put on my hat and gloves,
And my fuzzy little scarf just in case.
The season is just right,
For winter is a wonderful place.

  1. That was beautiful. You have a really nice handle on poetry and imagery.
